Hey all, it's finally time to announce that Heroes of Fortunia (previously known as "Dungeons & Heroes") is entering closed beta later this year. In this post, you will learn what to expect from closed beta, and how to participate. For those of you who haven't been introduced to the game yet, you can watch a few YouTube videos detailing some heroes & minions on my channel by clicking here. Note that by now, these videos are a little dated, and no longer reflect the current state of the game. Nevertheless, they're a good entry point. Regardless, here's a short summary The gameplay of Heroes of Fortunia is split into two elements: Dungeon building & dungeon raiding. Players both strive to create a very difficult dungeon, so that others will have a tough time beating it, as well as raiding other players, either for casual fun, or in ranked games that count towards your leaderboard standing. Minions & traps are obtained from treasure chests, which can be bought using gold (the currency awarded for a successful raid). Gold can be gained both from casual & ranked play. What is closed beta? What to expect? Beta is the phase where most of the game's core mechanics are finished, but it is largely lacking in content. Closed beta means, that only a select few are allowed to participate in playing the game, before it is opened to the public and enters open beta. Over the course of the next few weeks, the official Heroes of Fortunia website is scheduled to launch, which will provide more detailed information on the game, as well as the option to sign up for closed beta. If you happen to be selected, you will have the opportunity to get your hands on the game and get a feel for it, as well as participate in casual & ranked play before anyone else. A piece of trivia Heroes of Fortunia is based on the HCMCPVP original game mode "Dungeons" and expands on it in a way which would not be possible in Minecraft. The game is going to be 100% free to download for anyone who wants it once it releases. Until then, you guys have a wonderful couple of weeks! Heroes of Fortunia uses the Unreal® Engine.
